How do you get there from Hayling Island?

Drive north over Hayling Bridge towards Havant, then follow the A27 east toward Chichester and the signed harbour roads into Bosham. Traffic on the A27 and narrow village approaches varies — allow extra time on busy summer days.

Important — tidal road: parts of the foreshore approach at Bosham flood at high tide. Cars left on the wrong stretch get caught every season. Check tide times before you park or drive along the waterfront, and follow local signage.

Village and harbour parking is limited on busy days; locations and charges change — check Chichester Harbour Conservancy and local parking information before you travel rather than relying on an old figure.

By public transport, a common pattern is Hayling buses 30/31 into Havant, then the Stagecoach 700 corridor toward Chichester, with a local link onward toward the harbour villages. Connections and frequencies change — check current Stagecoach and National Rail timetables before you commit to a day without the car.

• Bosham harbour village: the foreshore, quay and lanes that make this one of the most photographed spots on Chichester Harbour. Go for the light and the walks, and treat the tide as part of the plan.
• Holy Trinity Church, Bosham: a historic harbour church with a long heritage association often linked in local tradition and the Bayeux Tapestry story of Bosham. Visit as a living church and heritage place — check current opening and service arrangements before you set off rather than assuming access.

Bosham is the harbour village day on Chichester Harbour itself. Chichester is the cathedral city inland of the harbour. Arundel is the castle town further east along the A27. Partly. Holy Trinity Church and a café stop in the village can make a shorter wet day, and Emsworth adds indoor options — always check same-day opening.
